Closure Event

On May 25, 2023, the closing-event of the project was organized with the title: “Collaboration to establish increased situational awareness – CERETAB”. The action is co-financed by 95% by the mechanism of the ”EU actions” of the Internal Security Fund/Borders and Visas Sector of the European Union and by 5% by the national resources of Greece and the Republic of Cyprus, with a total budget of € 1.023.990,00€ not including VAT.

The project concerns the improvement of the accurate picture of the situation at the Greek-Cypriot borders, through the strengthening of cooperation and exchange of information between the National Coordination Centres of the two countries. More specifically, within the framework of the project, a Common Information Exchange Platform was developed and the procurement of two Unmanned Aerial Systems was completed.

The partners involved in this project are, on the Greek side, the European and Development Programmes Management Agency of the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Ionian University, while on the Cypriot side the Cyprus Police and the University of Cyprus.

2nd Cooperation Meeting

In the framework of CERETAB project, the 2^nd Cooperation Meeting was held in Athens on April 25-26, 2023 at the EDPA premises for the exchange of information and the Cooperation of the two NCC’s, administrative and final procedures to be followed by the project Team from both Hellenic and Cyprus Police as the main project participants. During the first day of the meeting cooperation activities between the two National Coordination Centers (NCCs) took place, whereas during the second day of the meeting focus was given on the particular cooperation synergies between EDPMA and the Cyprus Police representatives.

1st Cooperation Meeting

In the framework of CERETAB project, the 1^st Cooperation Meeting was held at Cyprus Police Headquarters in Nicosia on April 12^th, 2022 with the participation of all of the project’s beneficiaries, as well as Hellenic Police. During the meeting, several issues were discussed, in relation to the project’s implementation, the set-up of communication channels and of a cooperation framework between the National Coordination Centers (NCCs) of Greece and Cyprus and the way forward to the completion of the project. Next meeting will be held at the end of the project.

Steering Committee Meeting

Α Steering Committee meeting was held via teleconference, on the 17^th  of December 2021. During this meeting the SC members focused on challenges faced regarding the project implementation, especially regarding the timely procurement of assets foreseen in the Grant Agreement. It was decided that a request for an extension of the project’s duration should be submitted.

Α Steering Committee meeting was held via teleconference, on the 12^th  of July 2021. During this meeting the management team focused on the status update regarding the procurement of the two UAS and discussed in detail the request for amendment to be submitted.

Α Steering Committee (SC) meeting was held via teleconference, on the 24^th of April 2021. During this meeting the management team focused on the status update, the challenges faced regarding the project implementation and the future activities to be implemented. The SC members decided that an amendment request of the project’s duration is going to be submitted.
